Good Morning and Good Monday Cool Cats and Hot Kittens! While out walking last night with my dog, I pondered the vast sky and her stars, and the silvery moon and couldn’t help but think how short our time is here on this planet, this little blue dot hurtling through space light years away from where it was when we were born, and it keeps going. But where does it go? Where do we go?
We’re traveling through an indefinable space at rocket speed, although it doesn’t feel like it down here, held down by gravity, and the distractions of news, traffic jams, and trash day. One day we’re sixteen and the whole world lies ahead of us waiting to be conquered. Next day, it seems we’re sixty and we wake up with fresh eyes and new questions and wonder where’d the time go?
And that, my friends, is how this bad poem came about. You might read it as a warning, or you might read it as a salve on a wound. Here’s hoping your days flow easy as a river. Carpe Diem.
Lean Into the Day
by ZJ Czupor
Lean into the day,
Go ahead make it worthwhile,
Make it last a long, long awhile,
Because it ain’t coming back.
The hourglass continues to dribble out,
So fleeting isn’t it, like water down the hill,
The river curving ‘round the bend,
Out of sight, out of mind,
Just like us when our sand has run out.
Take a deep breath,
Re-balance your tires,
Admire the church spires,
They’re calling you to pay attention.
See the hawk soaring over head,
He’s not fighting the wind,
He’s flying high and easy with the flow.
Don’t worry baby,
Everything will be all right,
You know the words, sing along,
Let your words ring down the mountainside,
Even if no one hears you,
But know that the Universe hears,
And so does your soul,
After all, that’s all that matters.
So, chill big Daddy and Hot Momma,
Today, this minute is where it’s at,
Go with the flow and put on your hat,
Let the river take you ‘round the bend,
To a beautiful world without end,
Amen.
Perfect!
Very insightful.
