Wherever There is the Love of Two
By ZJ Czupor
Wherever there is the love of two,
You might find they have a dog or cat,
Maybe a hamster or bouncy goat,
But rarely will they have a Kangaroo.
They might have grandma’s old Cadillac,
Grandpa’s old six-string Gibson,
Maybe mom’s five-set of Waterford glasses,
And dad’s albums by Burt Bacharach.
Most likely, they’ve got two jobs,
Bills to pay, a big Samsung on the wall,
A bucket list to visit Disneyland and Graceland,
And in old age, a box of Depends.
Gotta give ‘em credit where credit’s due,
For maneuvering life’s crazy highway,
Making memories with dog and cat,
For here, you see, is the love of two.
So sweet. I really like the last lines in your poetry. It's like completing a circle tying everything together.
